Pattern: Half circle woman's cloak from Tidings From the 18th Century by Beth Gilgun, p. 65.

Size: One size fits all.

Fabric: Black wool coating - washed once to full it slightly.

Hood lining: Black silk dupioni.

Notes:

The pattern made a cloak that was 42 inches long before hemming, but with the width of my fabric, I could cut a cloak that was 45 inches long before hemming. I made five box pleats in the neckline of the cloak before attaching it to the bottom of the hood rather than gather it as the instructions said.

With all the dog and cat hair around here, trying to keep the cloak relatively hair free is an exercise in futility. I should never have bought plain black wool coating. A tweed would have been better. Meh.

Pattern: Margo Anderson's Historic Costuming Patterns. Full circle cloak from the Gentlemen's Wardrobe Pattern.

Size: One size fits all as far as the body of the cloak is concerned. I cut the largest size for the neck opening and the largest size collar. Neither was big enough.

Fabric: Black wool coating.

Lining: Black silk dupioni

Notes:

As stated above, the finished neckline of the cloak was too small. I had to recut it 5/8ths of an inch larger. I had to recut the collar of the cloak to match the new finished dimensions of the cloak neckline. I completely finished both the neckline of the cloak and the collar before I whipstitched the two together.

There is the same problem with dog and cat hair on this cloak that there is on my cloak.
